New tyres time

Just taken delivery of my new tyres, a pair of Metzeler Z6 Roadtecs. I had Pirelli Angel STs on previously, and Diablo Stradas prior to that. The Pirellis were the best, most responsive and confidence inspiring tyres I've ever ridden on. The Metzelers have a lot to live up to! They do have excellent reviews though and are reckoned to be on a par with the Pirellis. I'm fitting them on Monday ready for an MoT on Tuesday so we shall see.

Re: New tyres time

One of the advantages of living in a rural and sparsely populated area, Tootler, is the ease of getting appointments, be it MoT, doctors, or vet. I can often phone the garage a couple of villages away and go in for my MoT the next day, and sometimes the same day.

Looking at the weather forecast though, I don't suppose I shall be going far once the MoT is done till it brightens up a little! emoticon

We can get ours done from home and sometimes same day as phone call? Life is good here emoticon
There are mobile guys here that come to your house and thats it. You take the papers to transport department and pay them their fee and away you go.

thats really handy cj,its like your a criminal here, you dont speak to the examiner, you sit over at the side, your vehicle is put thru rigorus tests by machines, shaking and twisting everything to the point that if it isnt broke it will be when its over, then its the dreaded long wait to see if you passed, again no conversation, its easier going to the dentist, anyway,i take it your in no hurry to get your transport motd over here, emoticon

Hell no, Thats is rediculous. My guy comes to me and we talk cars or bikes while he is doing his thing, Maybe even have a cuppa or softdrink then Hhe gives me some papers and I give him some money and bid him farewell till the next time I need him. emoticon

I have to say that my experience with my local garage/MoT tester is more like CJ's than Tootler's. Been going to the same place for well over 20 years now.
