feeling quite chuffed,my bike went thru m.o.t yesterday and passed with no advisorys,dont know about where you are but they now make us put the front and rear wheels into a set of rollers then they test the brakes,this is the first time ive had to do this,im getting to know my bike more,ive done the oil and filter,serviced the back brake that was sticking(I DONT USE MUCH)changed to shorty levers,i know this isnt much to many but up to now i havent hardly had a spanner in my hands,got a pair of pirelli super corsas on,great sense of feel with them,

Excellent news on the MoT. We've had to have the brakes roller tested here for a long time now although I can't remember when it came in for bikes. Don't recall my ancient old BSA M21 having it done but that was nearly 25 years ago. It's come in since then.
It's very satisfying doing your on maintenance on the bike. Regarding the brakes have a look at this thread which explains why brakes stick and why you can end up with a lot of lever travel/sponginess. I love the feel and the sharpness of my brakes when I've just serviced them.

Cheers Gary i will have a look at that,last year all they did on the srad was depress the levers while the bike was moving,didnt realise we were so far behind in that respect.
