Newby from Holland
Hi Guys,
Im brian from Holland and i just bought my GSXR-400 Japanese import. I search a lot on the Dutch forums, but i think there not much other GK71F models in Holland. I didnt find any other GK71F.
But let me first show you some pics:
The yellow colour is a respray, and yellow is just not my kind of colour.
This is an exemple of the colours i want to use:
I stript the bike and im looking for the points that i have to restore. Cheers, Brian

Re: another newby
Welcome!
Nice pics...yellow not too bad, the bike looks very tidy though...and I noticed you got single seat conversion they are very rare on a gk71f!
Anyway enjoy the site, plenty on here including me who will do our best to keep your 400 ticking over nicely

Re: another newby
Hi Furry, I search on the web and could not find an other GK71F with the single seat conversion. Have you ever seen one before?
Also, notice the dubble headlight convertion.
I got an air intake just onder the headlight.
Im stripping the bike now, so i will put some new pictures online by the end of this day.

Re: Newby from Holland
Hallo Brian and welcome along.
Nice to see all these other 71F owners turning up.
That is a very nice looking example you have, the yellow looks good on it. And I'm very jealous of the fact that you have that single seat conversion. I'd love to get hold of one for my 71F. I wonder if it's possible to get some made to a pattern based on your unit.
--- Gary.

Re: Newby from Holland
I'm glad that i got the single seat conversion, it is hard to find an image of a single seat GK71F on the web. So were are you from Gary? Maybe a friend of mine can make a replica of it with poly.
I'm missing the airbox because they put an airfilter from a car on my bike. Is there anybody who has a good option were i can bye one?
This is how my bike look like at the moment

Re: Newby from Holland
I'm in Wales, Brian and I'd happily pay for a seat conversion.
The twin headlight was standard on some of the 71F's. They only made the single square headlight model for one year. The bikes were pretty much identical in every other respect.

Re: Newby from Holland
Hi Gary, i live just onder Rotterdam. I will ask my mate if he got the time and what it will cost to make a replica of the seat cover.
The headlights are smaller then the originals, i also got an air intake under the lights. When i removed the front with the light in it, it was obvious that is was home made production I will putt some pictures online this week.

Re: Newby from Holland
so i'm back after a few months, and the bike is running. There are a few parts that i have to check. After riding the bike the battery is emty and it will not recharge during riding. It will recharge when i put it in the garage on the plugg. The battery is only 6 months old, so that's not the problem. I need to know which wire is comming from the dynamo.
