gk76 spring rates
Hi
Anyone know the front fork spring rates? I'm running the GK76 forks in a RG500, and the front end seems a bit stiff, so would be handy to work out if it needs a softer spring.
Cheers

Re: gk76 spring rates
I once spoke to Richard Adams at Maxton, he told me that the 76a forks have too soft a spring (so they bottom out easy) and not enough rebound damping (so they spring up too fast and make the bike run wide)
Honestly, if you are running the 76a forks in your RG500 I would say junk em and go to the trouble of fitting K4-K5 GSXR 600-750 forks, you have to open the hole on the bottom yoke out to 54mm (get a reputable engineering firm to do this as I had a hell of a game with mine).
The newer K4-K5 front end is FAR superior to the standard 76a Forks and has a much better range of adjustment, I have seen complete front ends go for as little as £200 on ebay.....Id advise against the 636 legs even though they go straight I never got mine to feel confident.
You will also have to go to a bit of bother to have an adapter made to accept the front wheel spindle, I will be happy to make notes of the dimensions off mine if you do go this route
