alternator
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to get the alternator hub off the crank?, Any techniques or special tools I will need.
Its packed up and I need it off to swap for the other I brought.
Can take a pic if ya not sure what I'm on about.

Thats is a brillant post Gary, VERY VERY helpful, Great idea with the piece of wood hold the crank still did't think of that.
Would this tool be suitable?

Also,
Tryed undoing the crank bolt using the same method and the bike keeps lifting up. Did yours do this? and how came I stop this from happening?

That looks like it'll do the job Chris. I seem to remember mine came with a selection of different length bolts to screw into the alternator too.
Get someone heavy to hold the bike down for you or use a good sized lump hammer on the tommy bar extension to give it a few good sharp cracks to move it.

Well been trying to get this BLOODY! bolt undone for the past couple of weeks and still to no avail, This snow don't help either.
Any other ideas?

Can't remember which way the thread goes on that bolt - LH or RH. Your not possibly trying to do it up are you Chris?
