Re: GK73a.. winter = basement = some work!

the bike got on the road yesterday! only thing is that its working on 3cylinder and the 4th(the last on the right) isnt working..as it was before the break apart!
i don't think that its the piston as i didnt stress it that much and the spark plug was the only black.. so i guess its either the spark plug either the carbs need rebalance..
flying on thursday so dunno if i ll have time/mood to fix it!
it is a beast with 3cylinders just a bit growlish sound haha!
i will try to take some photos before i leave emoticon

ps. the polish looks amazing!! emoticon friends were asking me if its a "new" bike emoticon

I'd be looking to the ignition system possibly. Does the plug give a good fat spark when it's out of the bike?

i didnt check it gary. its probably the spark plug or the ignition coil. i am flying at thursday so i dont think i wil have time to rip the bike again and its working as it is. i ll get some pics tomorrow to show my polished frame and swingarm emoticon. it could be due to carbs need rebalance that the spark plug got black and doesnt give a good spark now. i am happy since i was told from a mechanic that if it was a damage in the motor it would barelly be able to move but mine moves ok its just the sound thats like a tractor due to the 4th piston not igniting. i also need oil change which will be done when i get back for easter emoticon

Don't run it like that as the unburnt fuel will wash the oil off of the bore and you'll end up with an engine strip on your hands, with all the attendant problems of locating a set of pistons, having it rebored or honed etc. emoticon
