A couple of small jobs done....

Today I managed to do a few of the small tidying jobs I've been meaning to do on the bike for some time.

I had the bar end weights off and cleaned and resprayed them. Likewise the rear number plate bracket/mount. They were all badly in need of it, missing paint, and in the case of the number plate mount, pretty rusty. They're all now repainted with black Smoothrite and hanging up over the Rayburn to cure.

I've also had a Pyramid rear cowl to replace the pillion seat for some time but never got around to putting it on as it was completely the wrong shade of blue. This afternoon I discovered I had just enough Grand Candy Blue in a rattle can to respray the cowl. It's not an exact match but it's closer than the blue it was previously painted. The cowl is now on and the grab rail is now off. The next task will be to find a reasonable exhaust hanger and I shall then remove the pillion pegs and hangers as well.

Photos to follow when it's light enough to get some.

Nothing too exciting. Just pleased to have finally done these little jobs.

Numberplate bracket resprayed. It was a horrible rusty lump before I did it.

Bar end weights also looking much better for a few coats of black Smoothrite.

Finally got round to putting the seat cowl on too.

Ha ha! No, it's my SV650s Tootler and CJ, my daily bike. The little gixer is still sitting there waiting for a restoration. It's a lack of funds holding that one up I'm afraid emoticon

Here we go, a couple more odds and ends sorted on the SV.

Pillion footrests removed to go with the rear seat cowl, and a nice alloy exhaust hanger fitted instead.

One of the next jobs will be to replace the rusty rear subframe. I have one in much better condition sitting in the garage just waiting to be fitted. I need to touch up a few chips in the paintwork on it with the black smoothrite first though.

Here's a view of the new discs on the bike. They've bedded in very nicely, work well, and look very smart too!

Here is how the bike now looks. A definite improvement, the back end in particular looks much cleaner.

Got a couple of runs coming up in April and May. Using the bike most days anyway, to get to jobs. Heaven, riding here in Wales!
