Flat Slide Carbs
To put it in a simple way...
Other than I know carbs mix the fuel/air at a certain ratio, and the velocity is controled by the drag of the cylinders, I know feck all about carbs.
But I was trying to find out about these Flat Slide Carbs, they look really cool and apparently have a better response than CV carbs, great I thought, till I saw the price, allthough I got no idea which ones would go on the gsxr400?
So anyone else come across these and thought wheyhey intresting, if so tell us, maybe you could educate me a bit and others about em

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
Hey fur we already have flat slide carbs ,the old slids were made from brass and then crombed they were rather heavy and slow to react. They were round also .If you look in the mouth of your carb you should see a black plastic flat slide. I realize yours are different from mine being the shotgun type but I still think you will find the part in question.

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
Hey I think my are the old brass ones, they turn open rather than slide up???
I will take some pics later on once me cam batts have charged and stick on here so you can see []
I think the carbs on my gsx250 need cleaning too, but you think getting the airbox off of the gsxr400 is a pain in the ass, you wanna see the one on that baby they gone for the "Pain in the Ass award" in 1981 LOL

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
Japan exhaust, DIC, looks good, sounds sweet and prolly cheep as well!
Look in Images you will see it side on!
150 on the back is ace, well worth the money and effort, like I said, as expected, about 7mm chain clearance, and I can really lean it now without the back end going wide even at really slow speeds
