Re: Flat Slide Carbs
Hmm..look round to me...and silver. Having never looked at my carbs, I am intrigued to see that the ones pictured employ both butterfly and slide valves. I've only ever seen butterfly valves on cars and slides on bikes.

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
in the second to last picture the last of the carb shots ,the carb bodies are sort of silver but inside the charcoal /blackish bits with the yellow rods in the middle those are the slides the brass/yellow rods are the needles.
to me the sides look flat on mine they are flat but i would not dispare even if they were round it is more important that they be made of the light weight plastic so they can react quickly to small changes in pressure, and this they clearly are..
what are you guys looking at anyway?

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
Those cylinders are made of lightweight alu very light, and when I gave em some WD40 last time I rebuilt them I did get a big improvement in response
At the end of the day, they match the engine well so I'm happy, but obviously they are not "quite" flat slide, where as sounds like the gk73a are???

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
I would ,I love pics.
check this out Gaz I'm thinking of making one I know I could do it for less than what they are asking. www.flo-commander.com
very cool idea me thinks..
I'm at 1850 ft. abouve sea level but on a trip that could easy vary by more than 1000 ft. up or down add to that all the variations in temp humidity etc. and being able to adjust your mixture on the go is pretty attractive...
