Re: Flat Slide Carbs
Someone on Gb400 mentioned a site, looked on there and suprise we have what I been on about... (Very nice version)
A set of them will cost £600, plus price of the filters, plus price of setting up the jets etc to match rest of it all NICE!

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
not that they are not nice but a well sorted set that came on your bike would give you equal performance, also those screens only keep out the really big lumps, the small stuff that eats your cylinder walls still gets in.
plus all the same problems that affect our carbs now would affect these after the same mileage...

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
The Filters m8 that is on the ones in the pic I agree are a bit shite, but if I was gonna go down that road, some nice K&N filters would be used At the end of the day though, they are the same performance wise at the GK73A flat slide carbs that Gaz showed the other day on here!
I think when we get a chance you can help me play with my jets etc cos I'm sure mine is running a bit too lean, hense in the summer the engine used to toast big time!
Yups the other bike is also a GK71F, when I get the chance (and money) this yr gonna rebuild her, first thing I'm gonna try to see if this GK73A I got I can get to fit, so long as the sprockets line up, the rest I can manafacture myself at Uni

Re: Flat Slide Carbs
nothing to stop you from playing with the jets you have now and so much less money. Also I'm not a big fan of free standing air filters ,much better to have an air box feeding all the carbs the same cool calm air.
