hello [sign in to see URL] you checked the simple things [sign in to see URL] kill switch on the handlebars, the switch on the sidestand so you cant put it into gear wi it down(if its got one).some suzukis even had a switch on the clutch so you had to pull it in to start it. if its intermittent like you say it could be water in the connections,it has been wet alot [sign in to see URL] all the connectors apart an squit em wi some water dispersent/electrial [sign in to see URL] might even find a dodgy wire cos thats where they tend to rot/[sign in to see URL] you dont find anything then its time for cdi and ignition [sign in to see URL] luck, ler us know how yer go on.

checked everything, sidestand everything. Pulled every connector apart and gave all al dose of WD40 - except one which had white grease on it under seat. Tried another CDI as well and no luck. It sparked on saturday and let a backfire so me thinks its something else major wrong. Its going into bike shop tomorrow as we've wasted 2 weeks testing it and no joy. Need to get it sorted for NW200 - no way am i going in a car!!!!

Update!: went at bike last night (was originally just gonna put it on bike trailer to bring to bike shop) and tested a few things with my new [sign in to see URL] pickup coil inside the LHS engine side casing is ball-of-waxed. Get a resistance one minute and none the next. Took it out and one of the wires was bared so taped it up, put it back in and had a spark (and reading on meter) and then nothing (and no reading on meter) so at long last found the problem - hopefully. Am getting intermitten readings. Mate has a crashed RF400 so would the coil be the same on it? If not Gaz how soon can you send yours over? 2 1/2 weeks without bike is waaaaaa to long!!!!

Well m8 hence I got this forum started so all you lot can pick me brains in a more personal mannor! LOL

Anyway I reckon sig coil should do the job, certainlly we been though everything else, just a case of fault finding, really could do with spending the time noting down everything you did and hosting it on here for others to look as, as you find with gk73a's it's a common problem emoticon
