posticon GSXR400 Is back, GK73a Swingarm onto a GK71f....Bling Bling!!!

Oh yes shes allmost there...

Ok well I ain't posted on this as I go along, sorry chaps, so here it all goes in one big wooohaa...

Got a GK73a Swingarm, replaced the bearings, then Yorki made me up a rod to make up the difference between my 14mm Dia Spindle, and the 25mm Inner Dia Bearings NICE!emoticon

From there on in, I put it on, using the Gk71f linkage underneath, and some spacers I made myself so the Wishbones could bolt to it, GK73a fully adjustable shock used, fits nicely, tight but nice emoticon

OK this is now how far I have got...

Gremlin Racing Wavey disc on the rear (thanks to Loz) hence the Double H pads!

Ti nuts on the nice new sprocket, new sprocket on the front too, notice on this bike, only held on with a circlip!!!

DID Gold X chain, oh mumma! cover me in choclate and throw me in a barrel of cats emoticon

Oh the Hugger is blue, not had a chance to respray it black yet, now the 500 has gone puff until I get anonther bike I need this one on the road ASAP!

Exhaust will be one of the next things to be changed once I've taken it for a test spin to find out if that swingarm on there is OK!

Also you notice, scottoiler ready to go on, alot easier fitting one of these to a gk73a swingarm as it's straight, the gk71f bends off weird just before you get to the axel! Dual injector will be going on again once I've tested the bike with this swingarm!

Was out on the bike this weekend emoticon

Felt all ok, I noticed though that the right footpeg needs changing, made my position on the bike a little off centre, but nothing major to worry about!

Trying to get this exhaust on now, it looks like it will just about fit (My engine is at a steeper angle than the gk73a/bandit) had a go last night it needs some very minor modifications to finish it off emoticon

nice one, any pics of the whole lot together mate?

So you now have a 73A front and rear on your 71? Excellent.

Oh nooooooooooo

Not done the front yet!!! LOL

Still messing around with the exhaust at the moment!

It's looking to bit a bit of a tricky fit, on this exhaust I got, it's got threaded holes by each header, I guess this is for measuring back pressure or something?

Anyway I don't need em, and they are restricting my access, so hopeuflly today will be getting them welded up and taken down a bit, then I got the fun of fitting it on, I think the link pipe from the collector to the exhaust will have to be remade as my engine is at a slightly steeper angle, but will have to see emoticon

Oh nightmare!!!

Exhaust doesn't seat right, I tried to get it to fit but did one bolt up so tight it broke half the mount off!!! emoticon

Anyway I think I found a place in wales that could pick my bike up and custom make a stainless full system for me, would be a 4 into 2 into 1 which should be ok me thinks?

Bit ouch though £450 + Vat but well if they can sort this out once and for all will be worth the money I been trying to get an exhaust sorted for this bike for over 1 yr now!!!

Rode it to work today though, having the swingarm make the back wheel 1 inch closer to my arse has made the stability a bit more touchy in a straight line, but oh round corners the difference is amazing I could ride this bike round roundabouts all day and smile all the time hehe :P

Na everywhere I asked said it would require the pipework being cut up etc...

I tried it on a cylinder head I got loose, and it seems to fit that fine, I think it's just my engine is maybe mounted a bit steeper than the gk73a? Or at least the exhaust outlets are!

Anyway will let ya know how it goes! emoticon
