Re: GSXR400 GK71f making "blurrrrrrrrrlllrrrrr" sounds after 5k rpm...

Na I could never flog it, but at the same time I wanna ride it, I been on so many other bikes but nothing corners like my gixxer4 I've had the pegs down on the ground and everything it's just such a well blanced machine, all the other gixxers I've been on just feel fat and front heavy, this one really cuts the mustard it's why I've done so much to keep it mechanically on top of it all (Ok not much to look at, maybe time for a new plastics??? LOL)

I did have one other bad mother ass idea, but it is mad...

Sv650 engine in it???

I was thinking to myself, you got the TL1000, which is sorta like a gixxer with a V twin in, but theres no equlivent for the SV650???

Just trying to get a bigger chunk in it which isn't going to be so "delicate"...

To be honest, engine not the real problem, these fooosin carbs still not had a chance to look at the current ones on there, but thats the next step emoticon

If I can sort the carbs, I'll keep going on that 400 till the engine snuffs it then put it to one side until I got the time to strap something else in it...

If I can't get the carbs done OR when the engine goes puff, then time to get my mitts on anonther machine...

Seems logical to me LOL emoticon

And If anyone knows of any companys that to injector conversions, send em my way, cos I am sick of carbs big time, its like the problems are invisable, least with an engine you know when it's shagged ffs! LOL emoticon

Well I ended up only looking at a GSXR1100 this weekend emoticon

Hopefully going to go back today and have a closer look, Only things I think are wrong with it are...

Rpm clock is touchy (Will need to replace the clock Unit, is OK I have one spare from a GSXR750)
At least 1 tyre needs changing
Rear shock is a bit squidgy

Other than that looks ok, only done 20k Miles, Ticks over nicely and revs cleanly without any nasty smoke or anything emoticon

Hoping to go and look at a T595i as well, though only reason I was looking at Triumphs is cos of all the GSXR's I've come across have always had issues with them, but this GSXR1100 might still turn me back I'm suprised at how solid it is, from 1996 which is sposed to be one of the best GSXR1100s before the GSXR1000's took over.

Anyway will let ya know how I get on, Suzuki place here told me float chamer gaskets should be in this weekend comming, so I think to be on the safe side I'll leave doing it till then emoticon

Right OK...

So far I've brought a GSX400X (basically a naked version of my gsxr400) to take the engine/carbs off of, but I got to go pick it up expect will be doing that sometime this week, so I can then fix up my gsxr400!

In the meantime still looking for bigger toys, looked at a Triumph 595i yesterday, really nice bike but in corners it didn't feel natural, don't know if the clip-on setup can be changed, or if the Triumph 955i is any better??? (Maybe I'm just not used to a longer wheelbase?)

Also today hopefully (as it rained on Sat/Sun) I should be looking at a GSXR1100/Fireblade so will let ya know how I get on emoticon
