Top Speed Figures

Why is it that there are two top speeds quoted for the GK71's - 175kph and 200kph, is it due to the different tyre radius quoted or is there a speed governor on some bikes? emoticon

im only guessing but if you got a red light @50mph and the bike only does 112 mph it's a restiction by the cpu (lol)u can cut the wire (even take the bulb out) to the light and hay presto unresrticed?? it would b nice for someone to conferm this as i is tick. i think top unresticted speed is 139mph??

Re: Top Speed Figures

I've got that in a magazine, both GK71F Imports but one has a top speed of 200kph and the other is only 175kph.

Like Noddy says one figure is for the restricted version and the other is for an unrestricted bike.

The official top speed of the standard bike is:

112mph - Restricted

128mph - Unrestricted

Oh and the official kph & mph don't match with the figures above either. LOL

175kph = 108mph (should be 180kph as that is 112mph)
200kph = 124mph (should be 206kph as that is 128mph)

If you look at the speedo on some of the GK71F's they only go up to 180kph anyway.

Anyway now I bored everyone to death I will shut up. emoticon

Oh and the red light comes on at 55mph, unless like me you have removed the bulb. emoticon

Should work fine, well apart from the fact that when you reach 50mph it will still trigger the speed light it just wont light up without the bulb. LOL

GK71F is not resticted...with my fat ass on it I get around 116mph...go faster with someone smaller on it I'm sure emoticon

The light on the dash is purely to moan at your speed...take the bulb out...job done emoticon

Only restriction on GK71B's is at 10'500rpm to stop owners blowing up the engines on em emoticon

Mine goes freely into the redline...been at 15'500rpm before emoticon

Keep in mind most early 600's were only good for 130-150mph so don't expect too much of the wee 400's emoticon
